Manchester City secured the Premier League title in the most dramatic fashion as they scored twice in injury time to beat QPR 3-2.
Edin Dzeko headed home an equaliser with four minutes of added time left and then Sergio Aguero wrote himself into City folklore with the title clincher right at the death, while Rangers were able to celebrate survival in the top-flight.
Right from the kick-off City dominated possession, but they found chances hard to come by against a packed R's defence.
Nerves at the Etihad Stadium then started jangling when news came through that Manchester United led 1-0 at Sunderland, with only off-target efforts from David Silva and Yaya Toure having any threat.
The inspirational Toure then suffered a leg injury which would force him off just before the interval, but not before he had a hand in the crucial opening goal.
He and Silva helped to play in Pablo Zabaleta on the right side of the area and his shot slid through the gloves of Paddy Kenny and dropped over the line as the keeper tried to recover.
However the opening 20 minutes of the second half appeared to have ruined City's hopes as first Djibril Cisse latched on to a dreadful Joleon Lescott header and crashed a shot past Joe Hart.
Then midway through the half sub Armand Traore stormed away down the left and his deep cross was headed home by Jamie Mackie to silence the majority of the fans in the Etihad.
That was despite the R's having had Joey Barton sent off for a clash with Carlos Tevez with the score locked at 1-1.
However, despite being a man down, the visitors continued to frustrate the Citizens, who seemed destined to miss out.
That was before a stunning late, late show, set up when Dzeko headed home from close range following a corner as stoppage time began.
Aguero then sent the City fans into raptures as he wriggled past a couple of defenders and smacked a shot past Kenny at his near post.
